KDE menu not updating in Dapper

I already looked at this: the software in charge of updating the menus
is (hold your breath ;-)
update-menus

IIRC it is automatically called from times to times but not after an
upgrade. The rationale being that if you upgrade several packages, you
don't want menus to be updated after each.

Maybe you could have a look into /etc/apt/apt.conf

man update-menus
man apt.conf
