adding users: Gnome is the default?

Hello,

I downloaded and instaled Kubuntu, a KDE based system. I happen to have
the ubuntu-desktop installed, to play with Gnome now and then. But my
system is a "Kubuntu" system, using a Kubuntu splash screen and a kdm.

Yesterday I made an account for my girlfriend on my "Kubuntu" system,
and when she logged in, she had a Gnome desktop. Hello?

Can anybody comment on this before I fill a bug?

Any idea of to which package should I fill the bug against?
