Toshset utils fan not working - edgy

I just did a clean install of edgy on my Toshiba Satellite laptop and 
the toshset fan, which always worked in both breezy and dapper doesn't 
work in edgy.

I tried to register with launchpad in order to file a bug report but 
keep getting an oops error message - I'll try again later.

In the meantime has anyone else experienced the same thing using a 
Toshiba laptop?
