Thanks for the help.
My memory isn't what it used to be - so, since the laptop is about 6
years old, it probably can't (and never did) read data burned dvd's.
I shall just have to make sure that I burn important stuff for the
laptop to cd :-)
The problem still exists for the 'coaster' that my main [year old] box
can't read but Win xp can!??
