Is this classic the old beige case....I think there is a problem with those...I did read somewhere a way.

The live cd needs ~ 256 mb of memory it wouldn't install on my ibook with 128
It (your mac) will also need to boot off of a cd

IIRC it is a lot of trouble anything less than G3 new world macs but I don;t have the details.

On these you would hit th option key and then select the cd for boot

That's all I have...I only have ibooks as far as macs go.
