Output of ping us.archive.ubuntu.com
PING mirror.mcs.anl.gov (146.137.96.15) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from alpaca-ii.it.anl.gov (146.137.96.15): icmp_seq=1 ttl=43
time=80.4 ms
(above line repeats seq= increments +1 and times= are slightly
different)
I have found a difference in sources.list in the working install and the
non working one. In the working one the first line in sources.list is
deb http://Kubuntu.org/packages/Kde-354 dapper main
That line does not exist in the non working one. Could that be the
problem ?
I can't test it because I created another problem. In messing with the
network configuration in system settings I deleted my host name !*##@@.
My bash prompt now is ly at none and should be ly at ly-desktop. I cant use
sudo to fix it or do anything as administrator. Now I have to ask how
to fix that or reinstall. Guess I better start another thread.
Thanks for taking the time to help.
