nfs connection speed question

Nigel, I'm not an expert, but shouldn't your entry have some forward slashes 
in front of the IP address ie:

//192.168.0.xxx:/home/nigel /mnt/Home nfs noauto,rw,user,hard,intr 0 0

I'm not really sure about nfs, but I'd suspect it works like cifs. Here is 
what my fstab looks like:

//192.168.2.2/E /media/e cifs 
credentials=/home/david/credentials,uid=dmcglone,gid=dmcglone,auto,rw 0 0

//192.168.2.2/D /media/d 
cifs /home/david/credentials,uid=dmcglone,gid=dmcglone,auto,rw 0 0

//192.168.2.2/SDB6 /media/sdb6 
cifs /home/david/credentials,uid=dmcglone,gid=dmcglone,auto,rw 0 0
