In fact, that turns out to be what I'm using (specifically firefox 1.5.0.4). 
The _only_ thing that doesn't work is that there should be a set of links
in the top left that include the Google Calendar.  I can't find _any_ way
to get to Google Calendar from Gmail, but I can go vice versa.
