OK :-) You don't _have_ to go through all the intervening releases, but it
would almost certainly run into problems that would (a) need considerable
knowledge of apt/dpkg to work around, and (b) not likely find much help
here - as we generally haven't tried it.
Nobody actually knows how well the upgrade from Dapper to Hardy will go,
because we haven't seen the final tools yet, but it's been promised since
Dapper was first envisioned, and it's hard to imagine it won't happen.
