KMail from many platforms

Hi list,

My apologies for asking a question that is not typically (K)Ubuntu.

I am using Suse 9.3 and KUbuntu feisty *on the same computer* and I would
like to use KMail from both, with the same context, i.e. accessing the same
Mail folder. (same whish for 2 user accounts under feisty, only with more
restrictions, but let's go one step at a time)

If anyone has an idea thanks in advance for communicating Perry

Further infos, the reason and what I tried already

I have lots of sub-folders in Mail/ containing numerous files which I have to
look up occasionnaly. I also sort my mail and answer some, so unless I find a
way to sync those folders I am bound to do all my mail stuff either under
Suse or under Ubuntu, or do the work twice.

I unsucessfully tried to symlink (was warned in the man pages that would
probably fail...I can move Mail out of ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail and symlink as
long as Mail remains in my home , not placing it in another home)

I read about Mailsync and OfflineIMAP but doubt they can work on a single
computer.

I don't want to place all my mail on a server or copy it back and forth (the
latter is time consuming and I fear that would increase the risks of
corrupting the content, silly idea, isn't it?)

So instead I am considering making a "shuttle" with only the +/- new mail,
import the "shuttle" from the other side if more recent, download mail into
it, do my stuff in this "shuttle" then use it to "sync" the "static" folders.
Keep the "shuttle" with newer date for similar use in the other side.
I still have to figure out the details :0)))
