Question on KDE4 and tasbar

Good evening,

Don't know exactly if this is the best place to ask this question, but
will do as I usually find great answers here.
Following the instructions at Kubuntu.org I have installed RC2 of KDE4
and most everything works correctly.
However I have had several freezes where nothing I can do will restart
or unfreeze the computer except for a hard reboot.  After one of these
hard reboots I lost my system tray, K Menu, Clock, pretty much
everything that resides of the bottom of my screen.  How can I get
this back?

I know there are several "widgits" that I could try to add, but when I
add the one system tray nothing shows up.  Any help would be greatly
appreciated
