Solution: Upgrading to Edge

Thank-yous to all who wrote in with answers to my upgrade problem.

After executing a simple "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade", everything successfully 
updated on my box.  I'm now running KDE 3.5.6 and fairly happy, except for 
intermittent video problems which are mentioned elsewhere on this list.
