3d screen saver

Hey that was quick! Glad to see that this helped and you are up and running.

Under Dapper I had to install an older ATI driver than what the repository
held in order to gain 3D. When I upgraded to Edgy, that older version no
longer worked and the version offered in Edgy repositories did not fix the
bug. About a month or two after Edgy was released ATI introduced a
8.32.....magically the bug dissappeared without a word from ATI. Those
Radeon 200M cards are very common in a lot of HP/Compaq laptops, many people
cheered when they were finally able to get their 3D back.

The word on the street is that since ATI came under AMD, they have been slowly
getting better at supporting the Linux community, but it has taken a bit of
pressure, griping, etc. in order for them to come around--learning that their
end user population is bigger than those who purchase/use that other OS. Now
if Broadcomm would start giving us support.....
