OK after a lot of research and fiddling, I got vmware-player purged and
removed, everythign cleaned up and reinstalled now when running vmplayer I
get

Version mismatch with vmmon module: expecting 138.0, got 161.0.
You have an incorrect version of the `vmmon' kernel module.
Try reinstalling VMware Player.

Any more ideas, I think I am close to fixing this mess, but cant figure out
why I keep getting incorrect versions of vmmon installed?

Mike
