That looks like the problem:

Filesystem  Type    Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda1 reiserfs  2.8G  2.76  179M  94% /

I'm getting rid of 'kubuntu-desktop' so as to get rid of Openoffice.org and then 
the old kernel - that should free up some space.
