I started with Kubuntu 5.10 installed on a PII and used it in
conjunction with Windows for a while.  I am now using 6.06 on a PIII
and Debian Etch on a sun U60.  The only time I touch Windows is to
remove viruses, spyware, etc from my girlfriend and her daughter's
windows machines.

I recommend a dual boot.  Disconnect the Windows boot from the
internet.  Do all of your internet things on Kubuntu.
