That could be it...I am at v2.2 on Feisty.
I couldn't get a connection at first to MySQL from OO Base wizardry, so I went
to Synaptic and searched for ODBC/JDBC, found libmysql-java and installled.
Afterwards I started up Open Office Writer, went to "tools" menu,
opened "options", found the "Open Office.org Base" section in the navigator
pane. I then selected "connections" under this category and
clicked "Connection pooling enabled" and changed all the "no" to "yes" for
each entry. I closed all windows, close Writer, then opened Base and was
able to connect to the database I created in MySQL with the Base wizardry.
Someone here that is more familiar with Open Office Base and MySQL can
probably tell me that I didn't need to do all of those steps.....like I said,
I am new to the process. It didn't work when I started, it worked when I was
done.
