Hi Chris,
First I must admit that I don't use (K)ubuntu but rather Debian, so I'm not
familiar with (K)ubuntu-specific stuff. However I found that Gatos is also
a Debian package. Anyway I have an ATI Radeon 9550 series graphics card so
that's why I was interested in your query. If all you want is to get a
proper driver for the card, then I don't understand why you want Gatos.
Maybe I'm missing something here. I just use the drivers supplied by ATI
which you can find here:
http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html
There are a number of steps you need to follow but I can go through them if
you're interested. The result is I have a nice running driver with 3D
graphics enabled.
Cheers,
Jonathan
