Is your computer a 32- or a 64-bit machine? There are no (or hardly any)
64-bit plug-ins for Firefox, and installing or trying to install 32-bit
plug-ins will not work. (Windoze cheats by having rather a lot of 32-bit
code, for all I know, some of it is still 16-bit).
