The only thing that keeps the government from knowing everything about
everything you do is that they don't want to know. If they do you will
loose. Think of it this way. How can you stop them from walking into
your house when you are not there and replacing part of your computer
or the whole thing save the HD?? You would never know and that is just
the low tech approach. Thing is they most likely don't care at all
what you do.
