kubuntu 8.10: firefox filepicker

Hi,

I am using Kubuntu 8.10, 32bit with the latest upgrades.
Firefox (from Ubuntu) works great. Only the file picker annoys me:
Whenever I download a file, a gnomish file dialogue asks where I
like to put the file.

This dialogue is ugly, ok but the real trouble:
--Its opening size is tiny. I need to enlarge it to get to see something
--whenever I create a directory this is duely done, but until 8.04, I 
had it open the directory immediately, now I need to open it manually, 
which is a badkstep in usability.

Everyone got a decent KDE file dialogue for my firefox?
