1.5 G RAM, 3.0 GHz CPU, geforce 7300 w/256mb VGA---> lightning speed
kubuntu hardy, i use the same hardware for windows xp, which runs waaaay
too slugishly, what is weirder, is that on windows i didn't notice any
performance gain from increasing RAM from 500 mb to 1500 mb except in
games, as for the system in general, nill performance increase!
kubuntu on the other hand, was working real fast on 500 mb, and really
didn't need the extra 1 Gb, after the upgrade, it became even better,
specially with firefox when viewing flash objects. unfortunately i don't
know anything about gentoo, and i certainly have no idea about
building/compiling a system.
