You take it too serious what is being said here, I think. Do you think I'm
threatening the programmer or someone else. What I'm doing is put in
question their ability to make consequent decisions, something that if you
are working in a company would cost you the job. I would fire the people
responsible for making this _stupid_ think default filemanager in kubuntu
8.04.

Yes, I agree, the problem is that some smarta** decided instead of me what I
would prefer as a filemanager in a kde version where I was sure that
konquerer is was and will be _the_ filemanager.
So kubuntu just lost a point here.

At least this is the intention of me writing here, so perhaps in the future
the kubuntu team would learn from their errors in the past.

I would apologise to the author of the program, because I agree he is not
that guilty in this case, though this also can be discussed, but it's not
relevant for now.
What makes sense is for the kubuntu team to stop pushing apps or even
desktops (I refer to the discussion we had about interpid and if it's ready
for use) down to the users.

I'm pretty experienced and can get any linux and desktop working. What and
why I'm so critical here is because kubuntu targets new users. Please pay
attention to _users_ not people like me who can tweak the system and may be
debug apps.
I use mostly the command line and don't know much details about kde, but
having something s t u p i d as a filemanger pisses me really off.

And I do not regret here the usage of the word stupid or the
expression "pisses me off" and also I _want_ that every user knows that
this dolphin as per 02.11.2008 is not that good as konqueror. Sorry for it.
This is obviously true, because of the facts I listed. There should be
place for controversy in the forums, lists and so on.

Please tell me how I can call this, some kind of euphemism for the word
stupid I mean. How do you call something like this in euphemistic way? I
don't have anything less rough in mind. Sorry!

Besides cultural differences where I completely agree with Knapp, I would
like to say that I'm still evaluating kubuntu for myself and I also agree
with Knapp that kubuntu has only one chance to make a good impression.
So far I don't know if the positive or the negative impressions regarding
usability speak for kubuntu. In fact I don't see anything changed in the
past few years. The things that pissed me off 4 years ago are not changed
only kde is much better and what does the kubuntu team does? start over
with a new buggy version of kde. But this discussion we had earlier too.

And when pissed of you tell me to shut up. Please learn from what I'm saying
if you want. It would definitely help kubuntu reach more users.

Who is responsible for packaging and accepting apps in distros. I have to
talk to them I guess. Please, provide list, e-mail or other contact data.

As an example I have discussed kernel issues and they were also unhappy with
my tone and proposal to have a longer time support for some kernel version.
What is going on now there? They are planing longer time support for
2.6.27?

So criticism in any form helps, if you are able to understand what is really
meant.
