How do I get Kmail to show on the Kmenu/Internet dropdown again?

when you filled in the properties for this new menu item, 
did you fill in the part that asks for the application to 
run?

What if you go to a console and run kmail from there, does 
it run? i.e. type in

  kmail

If not, you could confirm kmail is actually missing. Type in 
a console

  find /usr/bin -name kmail

that will tell you if kmail is on your system.

if it is there, in a console type

  /usr/bin/kmail

and it should run from there. In which case it would seem to 
be a path problem.
