I have been reading this thread (a lot of messages) with interest. Did 
you get the MB working OK? If not, according to the manual for your 
board (M3N-HT) on page 3-1, the BIOS beep codes are given, and one short 
beep indicates no keyboard! Do you have a keyboard connected?

Usually the Cool-N-Quiet AMD Fan feature will momentarily turn the fan 
on, and then turn it off based on the temperature (once the BIOS kicks 
in). At least that's how it is on a Gigabyte AM2 board that I have.
