I believe Kontact is the package I was meaning to install.  I installed 
Kmail, though.

PPO3.  I thought I included an attachment with my post. In it on one 
screen, I showed on the left Thunderbird smtp configuration that works 
fine, and Kmail on the right, which is not working fine.  I thought 
someone might notice my error.

Thank you.  Not understanding the terminology all the time, I sometimes 
get it wrong.  It just goes to show you how much I really need help.  A 
bit embarrassing though.
