A while back I purchased an Asus EeePC with Xandros Linux installed.
It's kernel was hardwired to not recognize anything over 1gig memory. I
wanted 2gig. To make a long tedious story short. After trashing my boot
sequence a couple times using vi and having to reload the OS I did
finally get working. I would just about rather have that root canal
without anesthetic than use it again.
