D'oh. :-(  I should post more carefully in the first place.

Are you saying that the emails which come into GMail are being forwarded to 
Hotmail?  If so, then my original explanation may stand.

Does Hotmail delete duplicate emails?  Check up on whether the emails are 
reaching Gmail in the first place by going to GMail and looking at "All 
Mail".  (Clicking on it.)  If the list emails are going to GMail they will be 
shown there.
