BUT, I'm agreeing with you. Whether its 4.1Vanilla or 4.2.2uptodate the 
autoupdate notifier isn't working for me either.

Typing the command, well copy/paste actually, into run does work but I 
think I may wait a week or so. Let all the "gotta have it first" types 
get off the server.
