Being the only one using my machine, I don't have the same security problems.
Additionally, I have little to protect, so security does not concern me as it
would a business with multiple users. I don't even want to be lazy, I just
haven't been looking at the problem through eyes of a common user.
I found a way to give myself the permissions that I want. I thought I tried
and failed using the selfsame procedure, however, it is obvious I did not.
For the benefit of someone looking on with my level of experience, here is what
I did to solve the problem.
I opened Dolphin using sudo in a konsole. ~$ sudo dolphin; I opened the
appropriate partition /media/disk/ to fine a computer generated lost+found
folder. I right-clicked on the open space and selected Properties. In
properties I selected the Permissions tab. I gave myself permission to
read/write as owner, and checked the box confirming same. I closed everything
and opened the partition again. This time, I was able to create a folder and
will now be able to use the partition.
Thanks for the ongoing patience of the List.
Steven
