Dual boot Vista and Kubuntu

Acronis? I am using Acronis. All partitions are there.
I have made a backup with True Image (Acronis) without problems.
There must be something on the disk that inhibits th kubuntu installation.
Even different kubuntus (the last 3 versions) cannot install.
I don't know the details of the MBR. Possilbly a single byte decides but I
don't know it.
