Is it possible to transfer data directly from one user to another user's desktop?

There will be other problems and hassles in trying to have another user that 
keeps up-to-date with your "Steve" user.
It won't save you any stress. Much better to fix your main user.

I can give you some instructions that will make an exact copy of data from one 
place to another, but you must have enough hard drive space for that.

Really, it's better to:
a. Not experiment with your main user too much. If it's working, then leave it 
be.
b. If you *have* to try something, logout and log-in to your other user and 
experiment there until you know what you need to know.
