Is it possible to transfer data directly from one user to another user's desktop?

Is the other user on the same network with you. If you are using KDE in
the Konqueror file manager, put in URL box or where it says /home/user,
take that out and put in fish://bob@192.168.1.0 (put the other user
name and IP address to his box)
and it will display his /home/user/ Konqueror filemanager on your
desktop and all you have to do is drag from your filemanager to his . If
your use Gnome I don't know what their filemanager will do, it's
against my religion to use gnome .

If you are using Gnome or KDE in Terminal as user type in scp filename
bob at 192.168.1.0://home/bob (Where it says filename, put name of file
you want to send , and as for user at his IP address://and his home
directory. ). To use this method be sure SSH is running in Services.

If the user is not on your network or across the Internet, you can use
the SCP command as shown above, but you will have to get the user across
the Internet to get his Internet IP address, to do that he has to open
his browser and goto "getip.com"
(leave out Quotes) and at top left of browser page in Bold numbers, see
his IP address, he must email that to you with his /home/user password.
with SCP you can send him files all day.

If you want something more sophisticated check out Freenx for linux,
it's on most distro software sources.
