System tray artefacts

If you don't want to wait
that long and you are a Kubuntu user just add the following ppa to your
sources.list and upgrade your system:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/adamspain/ubuntu intrepid main

Thank you Jonas, and Lindsay, it works like a charm, seems to have fixed the
rubble when opening a new window.
 But alas the System tray artefacts and task bar rectangles are still with me. 
Seem to arrive any time during any text editing I'm doing, regardless of what 
application I open to do the text editing with. Once they are there they stay
until C-A-F1/ C-A-F7 _AND_ I close the editing application(like this mail).
