Installing flashplayer help

Hi,
I am quite new to Kubuntu and Linux generally. I use Kubuntu 7.10. There 
was no Firefox in the installation CD. I also wanted Firefox 3, which I 
could not get with Adept Manager. So I downloaded Firefox 3.0.6 tar gz 
and manually installed it (as root). It works fine.
Then I downloaded Adobe Flashplayer 10 (for youtube) and tried to 
install it. At the end it asks for the installation path.I tried 
/opt/firefox, /usr/lib/firefox, /home/sudheer/.mozilla. But each one of 
them was rejected and I was asked to 'enter correct installation path.' 
Can anyone please help me?
