How do I get an 8 sided cube using Compiz.

A while back, I had an 8 sided cube using Compiz.  My computer really could 
not handle Compiz at that time, so I removed it.  Nonetheless, when it was 
working, I just loved the fact that I could have 8 separate packages open at 
the same time and switch from one to the other easily without having to open 
and close them for space efficiency either on the drop-down bar in the window 
itself.  I was able to identify the pages by tilting the cube and looking down 
at the inside.  It was just great.  Now I am having difficulty remembering what 
I did to make that happen.

Now, when I attempt to configure 8 desktops, each time it returns to 3 after 
applying the changes.  Additionally, it doesn't have the appearance of a cube 
like before.  When I change from window to window, it spins, but before I 
could see an 8 sided cube that did not fill the entire screen.  I could use a 
little help please.  Thanks in advance.
