I thought that was true, however, Maxtor, at least will not service a problem
concerning their drives unless it has XP, Vista or Mac OS. They won't even
give help over the telephone. I chucked a OneTouch III that did not work
because they said in their ad that they would only support XP, Vista or Mac.

But it did not work out of the box, and all I could do was plug in the firewire
or usb2 drives and power; it had preloaded software in it already. That was a
big loss, and it sure was pretty.

The computer I need to put the drive into doesn't have SATA connections,
however I do have an adapter for sata to regular power, but I don't have an
adapter that would join the drive to the regular board pins. If they make
such a thing, I would like to get a SATA drive because my new board has lots
of sata sockets. Then I could use it on the new computer, if I can ever get
ASUS to return the board. I have USB and IDE for sure. I am not familiar
with SATAII. Is that something faster than SATA?

I am anxious to really understand some of these things I am learning right
now. I feel naked without the knowledge. Thanks for your kind reply, friend.
