I am not the most experienced, I believe yes is the answer. When I first
installed Kubuntu, I had a dual boot situation with XP. Both OS's shared the
same drives and data, as a consequence I will step out there and tell you the
affirmative.

Everything that was on my computer had been put there using XP, still Kubuntu
used the data as though it was Linux. I installed Linux with an ext3 file
system, and even then everything worked seemlessly between the two systems.

It wasn't long before I dumped Windows, though. As soon as you can just
partially get up to speed using Linux, I am sure you will dump Windows too.
You will soon quit wanting to deal with virus' and popups and constant
security updates and about 5 to 1 the amount of mouse clicks to get something
done.

It won't be an easy change, but as the learning curve shortens, you will
realize how superior Linux is, let alone the fact that everything is free.
Just this list is an amazing free service. I paid Microsoft their minimum $35
fee many times to get something that was a programming failure of their's
fixed. The never give you your money back either, even if it is their mistake.

Good Luck, it sounds like you may be a Linux Newbie.

Steven
