ATI x1300 - Cannot activate proprietary driver

Hello all,

I recently bought a new computer and installed Kubuntu 8.10 as a 
dual-boot with Vista. I have an ATI X1300 Pro graphics card installed. 
When I try to activate the "ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver" 
from Hardware Drivers, the listing turns grey and does nothing. The note 
at the bottom still says that "The driver is not activated". Any 
suggestions? If any further information regarding my setup is needed I 
will be more than happy to provide it.
