When I did my install of 8.10 it was strictly for testing problems. I
had no intention of switching until at least 9.10. However sometimes
things happen. I had had running issues with the video in 8.04 for some
time. Not impossible to fix but................. Anyway it flopped again
so I made the move. When KDE4.2 was released I jumped on it because I
was _NOT_ happy with 4.1.x. Not a move I have regretted in the least.
The system is stable and works _VERY_ well. When 9.04/4.2 comes out I
think I will upgrade my laptop from 8.04/3.5.x. I'm completely impressed
with 4.2.

When I upgraded to 4.2 I just added the ppa repository and let adept
updater do it's thing. I didn't "try" to upgrade myself. My theory was
that the system was smarter than me. It seems from some comments that it is.
