How do I unite cd1 to cd2? Is Kino the tool?

I couldn't find much on HAL except in Adept Package Manager.  Several packages 
are installed in my machine, but I don't really understand, by their 
descriptions, exactly what they do that might have been affected by Kino.

Google did not help.
