Kubuntu 9.04 on sony vaio VGN-NS11S

When I try to mount the cdrom, I get the message

humberto at socrates:~$ mount /dev/cdrom
mount: can't find /dev/cdrom in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab

I also tried with cdrom0 and with su powers but I got a similar message.
