That isn't always useful, For example, you may use aptitude most of the 
time, but if you want more advanced searching, you may use apt-cache as 
a one-off. Similarly, you might spend all your time using apt-get, only 
to find there's some tricky package conflict problem you need to solve 
and you can't figure it out yourself, which is when aptitude comes into 
play. Learning to use more than one app is always a good idea, although 
yes, you do need to make sure you don't muddle them up.
