The only difference between the two is that Kubuntu uses the KDE Desktop 
and Ubuntu uses the Gnome Desktop.  If you like KDE or use more KDE/Qt 
software use Kubuntu if you like Gnome or use more Gnome/Gtk software 
use Ubuntu.
