Thanks Jonas, but I cannot get the application. The virus has stopped any
method of communication on the Internet, save the browser.

Here is what it does. Perhaps you can see a way for me to download the
appropriate application. I will use your email address to describe what it
does. Jonas Norlander <jonorland at gmail.com> is how I would type it in.
jonorland at Yeshua@gmail.com is how the sent email would be addressed when sent.
Yeshua is the name of my computer, so that is where that name came from.

I then deleted the @Yeshua from the address and pressed send agaiin. It did
not send. This time it went out like this: Jonorland at gmail--dot--com. Then
I corrected the --dot-- problem and sent it again. This time it did not send
because the server did not recognize the sender. I checked configuration and
it was correct. There was no way to correct the Sender entry, because it was
properly stated in the form.

I don't remember the next step in my many efforts, but one caused me to lose
connection with my dsl router. I disconnected the routher and connected
directly to the modem and got on the internet one time. When I returned to
the email program, I no longer had connection with the modem. I then tried
the browser and was unable to browse at all.

Clay Weber of Administration doesn't think I have a Virus, but what else could
it be.

I spent the next couple of hours trying to get an old laptop to work, so I
could have an uninfected source to contact the list. Everyone's solutions so
far involve installiing an application, but I cannot since I cannot connect to
the Internet.

I don't know how to download an application from source to a CD, or I could
perhaps install from CD, but the only other option is re-installation and I
have already tried that.

Recently I changed my mount points on my HDD's so that I would never lose any
data due to an application or OS crash. The mount points are as follows:

/ is the mount point for the OS it is 20gb in size. The balance of the hard
drive of 80gb or approximately 60gb is mounted at /home/steven/svpersonal.

I have an additional 200gb HDD which is as follows:

100gb is mounted as /home and contains all my home data including email stuff
and bookmarks pictures and the like. It isn't even on the drive that contains
the Operating System, so it is impossible to lose data due to application or
OS fatal crashes. The second partition on the second drive is my
/home/steven/backup. 99gb in size it is also on the /home directory, I hope
the term is properly used there.

In any event since .kde is on the /home drive, the virus obviously spread to
the second HDD. As a result, when I re-installed the OS, I still had the
Virus in the system.

The only way I can see to keep from having to lose all my data is to install a
virus remover without having an Internet connection. And, I don't know how to
download and copy the application to disk. I don't know where all its files
are stored, when installed. I have to have the installation application on a
CD.

With the extra information, do you understand my problem? Can you see a way
to solve the problem? Will you share that information with me? Thanks!

Steven
