upgrade 8.04 -> 9.04+kde3: how?

That all depends on what you use it for. I still have a machine running KDE3.5 and it will probably always do so. I built it for a purpose and it does that purpose as well today as it did the day I built it. Indeed, I've tried putting newer releases on it and none of them work as well. If it ain't broke, etc etc... If people absolutely must have the latest stuff then they have to expect that the things they like about the old stuff might disappear or stop working. Look at the options and make a decision... if you make the decision to upgrade, don't go complaining about it.

(I also have a machine running Windows 98, for exactly the same reasons).
