I have heard the term mail server many times over the past year or so. So
many who use the list talk of them, but I am just one person and use Kmail
mostly. I installed and tried Thunderbird on the offended computer, but it
started reacting the same way and stopped when it got to a failed connection
between computer and ISP too.
Perhaps I am a mail server and don't know it. I contact family, a few friends
and the List with emails, that is all. I don't have any commercial activity
or company activity taking place ever. I am retired. I do have some
important data on the offended box, though, and it is in two places. On a
partition called /home/steven/backup and on the /home partition. But they
obviously have the virus too, because after formatting and reinstalling, I
still retained the same problems. I don't know if you know the progression of
the virus, but it takes a lot of words to describe, so tell me if you want me
to relate them again.
