I could not find a /resolv.conf.  I did find a /resolvconf which contained
/update-libc.d, a folder.  The /update-libc.d folder contained avahi-daemon.

I opened the avahi-daemon using kate and got the following:

#!/bin/sh
#
# If we have an unicast .local domain, we immediately disable avahi to avoid
# conflicts with the multicast IP4LL .local domain

if [ -x /usr/lib/avahi/avahi-daemon-check-dns.sh ]; then
exec /usr/lib/avahi/avahi-daemon-check-dns.sh
fi

I am a bit inexperienced; I hope this is what you wanted.

Steven
