Well, there's alot more about this that I don't know than do.  I was just 
trying to help Steven get the errors out of the konsole.  Maybe now someone 
who's more knowledgeable can trace back the problem.

However, to my untrained eye it appears there's a font that it's trying to use 
that doesn't exist, and so it can't display the text.  But, that almost seems 
too easy.

I just hope Eberhard hasn't given up on this tread. :-P
