 Mine is:
 openoffice.org-kde:
 Installed: 1:3.0.1-1ubuntu1~hardy1

So it has been around for awhile!  I think it is because so many people were 
not fully updating Open Office to 3.xx.  I'm running Hardy cause of the KDE4 
thing but may go to Jackalope if I hear enough good things.  I do however, 
have to have a computer that works and Gnome is just too nasty to use.

Well FF3 has been very nice to use since 8.04 so I dumped the 2.whatever then 
and have not had any problem with it since.  The people who had problems were 
those who insisted on also keeping the older versions.  I don't use T-Bird 
cause K-mail does well for me.
